The Medical Radiation Technologist is
responsible for the safe, effective and efficient performance of a variety of
procedures. The MRT will use independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in
the application of ionizing radiation.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program
- CMRTO
registration and CAMRT registration
- Advanced
Practice Certificates in additional sub-specialties an asset (GI Fluoroscopy,
CT, Mammo)
- Current CPR Certification preferred
Experience - Minimum 1 year experience in general imaging
- Experience in mammography, and/or ultrasound and/or CT an asset
- Working with PACS/HIS/RIS and in multiple modalities
- Ability to handle stressful situations and changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and without supervision
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, on call, and statutory
holidays
- Able to maintain an effective working relationship with patients,
physicians, hospital staff and the public.
- Computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications
(Hospital Software experience an asset)
- Demonstrates initiative and good judgement in problem solving and
identifying opportunities for action
- Excellent interpersonal/communication, verbal, written and
organizational skills
- Professional demeanour and excellent attendance are required
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance and preventative maintenance processes
- Responsible to ensure optimal: patient flow, equipment operation and
procedures
